Our Heritage

In 2006, Charles E. Mangum, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.P., established North Texas Pathology Associates (NTPA) to provide anatomic and clinical pathology services to Lake Pointe Medical Center and the physicians serving the community of Rowlett, Texas. Additional pathologists with diverse training and backgrounds were brought on to the staff to meet the demands of a growing practice as contracts were established with a second hospital, surgery centers, and private practice offices within the service area. Nacogdoches Pathology was created in 2013 to meet specific needs in east Texas.

North Texas Pathology Laboratories (NTPL) was created to provide technical services for Lake Pointe Medical Center. Sustainable growth was achieved by staying committed to excellent pathology practices while implementing a strategic initiative that included the addition of skilled pathologists. NTPL’s customer base now includes multiple hospitals, surgery centers, and private practice offices and has gradually expanded geographically.
